Topic: Shock Wave Laminar Boundary Layer Interaction

Brief Introduction: Shock wave boundary layer interaction is a common phenomena in high speed flight. The capability to accurately predict the aerothermodynamic loading on aerospace vehicles is important for effective design. Two specific configurations are considered-a hollow cylinder flare and a blunt fin attached to a flat plate. CFD simulations are presented for each case to examine the flowfield structure and compare with experimental data.
